the product catalogue can be used whether or not you are selling online.
your products are grouped into hierarchical categories such as "product type" > "brand" > "product range".
shop front
this is the opening page of your online shop/product catalogue. the shop front provides the opportunity to feature/promote your leading products within tabbed sections.
the section headings can include..
- hot picks
- best sellers
- latest products
- sale items
- recommendations
- wishlist
- gift ideas
hot picks are your hand-picked collection of promotions.
best sellers are selected from your top selling products by number of orders (not volume).
latest products are selected from your choice of new products or by using the entry date of the product.
sale items are selected from your sale-priced products - prioritised by largest % price reduction.
recommendations are drawn-up by comparing the contents of the customer's current shopping cart and previous order with other customers' shopping habits.
you can also include your own product associations e.g. you could link a widget cleaner with a widget.
if the customer's shopping basket is empty and has no order history, your top selling products are used.
wishlist is the customer's own product bookmarks.
gift ideas are your hand-picked collection of gift ideas.
each tab section contains a grid of products using your choice of format..

where more products are available than places in grid (cells), products are selected at random from the pool (except: wishlist - complete list is used).
product pricing can include or exclude local tax (e.g. vat).
navigation
the product categories and their rankings (0-99) forge the navigation of your online shop.
breadcrumb navigation allows for one-click navigation to higher levels of your shop.
jump-to navigation allows for one-click navigation to deeper levels of your shop.
category leader pages
as the customer transverses your shop, category leader pages are used to introduce the customer to the sections ahead.
product range pages
your products are presented in columns of 3 or 4 items. the items are ordering in accordance to your rankings. clicking on a thumbnail image, "view" link or icon loads the product details page.
product detail pages
includes the product's full description, feature list, press and customer reviews.
customers can select sizing and other options if applicable. the product can be added to the customer's shopping basket or wishlist.
product search
search results are presented in a similar manner to that of the product range pages. the search covers keywords found in the product heading, product name, full description and feature list.
shopping basket
a basket preview is included on all product catalogue pages and optionally on other pages of your website.
the shopping basket provides for updating quantities and removing items.
discount and gift voucher codes can be redeemed.
discount vouchers (e.g. py602bg4) can either give a percentage or a fixed priced reduction (e.g. £10 discount on orders over £100). discount vouchers can be assigned an expiry date.
gift vouchers can be purchased from your online shop (as pdf documents). each gift voucher has an unique code and can be only used the once.
bundled products can be promoted within the shopping basket, where an element of which matches an item in the shopping basket.
checkout
your checkout is compatible with leading credit card payment processors (paypal, sage pay - protx, worldpay, secpay, barclaycard epdq, netbanx etc.)
